Crossfire error

Hello everyone,

I've been having this ''CROSSFIRE ERROR do you want to report?'' since i've been on CrossFire NA..

onetime i had this same error together with the following error (no screenshot) ''cannot open shader file - rez\shader\legacy\legacyshader.fxo -- File not found!''

sometimes it comes up by just joining a game, sometimes after 10 minutes, sometimes after 1 round.. i really don't know what causes this..

What i have tried to solve this:
re-installed crossfire
run crossfire as administrator
tried crossfire in compatibility mode with ALL windows versions
closed down nvidia experience and all other programs (i only had crossfire running.)
tried crossfire in a different resolution.
tried crossfire in windowed mode.
re-installed GPU drivers and updated to the latest version.

this is really making the game unplayable for me

Which anti-virus are you using?
Tried uninstallng, running CCleaner, and reinstalling?

You dont even know what bandwith means and you come here complaining about your ping ? I will tell you what your bandwith is if you dont know .. it`s 2 MB/s .. With that speed you cant even watch an online movie and you want to play an online game against someone with 1 GB/s . 4Real .. antivirus isn`t the problem here . The ISP is or the country in wich he is living ..

Thanks, i'm gonna try this out! haven't really thought of this yet!

EDIT: i have tried it but it didn't work, also changing the resolution didn't work either. what else do you suggest?

was working for me on windows 10 using a lower hardware configuration

I did not have this problem on CF EU, what else may cause this to happen? yesterday i played for about 3 hours without a problem but then i left a game to change a weapon and rejoined and got the error.

usual suspects are the antivirus and windows read / write rights, therefore i install game on a secondary partition and run as admin all time , and usually is fix this error for me.

just plugged in a SSD, installed crossfire on there, made exception on firewall gave myself full read/write permissions (although i'm the only user on this pc.) and it is still happening, quite frustrating isn't it.

I have now deleted CF, ran cc cleaner. deleted all CF related paths in registry, updated to latest driver/unistalled them, done compatibility mode in all versions of windows, disabled screen optimalization, ran all resolutions. cf has an exception in the firewall to.

This surely is related to the came being the fault. I havent had this on Europe..

one more time again: on random occasions i get the error ''crossfire error, do you want to report?'' with the OK button, if you wait or alt+tab the game will turn black an the other pop up will appear

''cannot open shader file - rez\shader\legacyshader.fxo'' file not found. < i am the only user on this computer, i've got full permission on the folder and it's on a 2nd harddrive with only crossfire on it (i tried out all theshadowro's tips he wrote about this error over the years.)

my hardware is not outdated either. my gpu isnt AMD either i have the 1050TI.

Why is there such poor customer support?

P.S. On my old PC : i5-760 + GTX 560 i use Nvidia 391.35 / Windows 10 x64 and work fine so far

UPDATE: my old hardware wasn't slow and easily was double the requiered specs of crossfire.

However.. i upgraded to an

i3 8100
msi b360 gaming plus motherboard
16gb ddr4 team vulcan 2400mhz
samsung 970 EVO 500gb M.2
be quiter dark rock pro 4 cooler
(still the same 1050TI)

(just a small showcase of the upgrade.)

installed windows 10, nvidia drivers, installed crossfire, on start up i had the same error as on my old set-up, i disabled screen optimalization again for crossfire as i did on the old set up and the game works fine now. However.. sometimes when i want to start the game it appears in a corner, then i will have to pres windows+p and press on duplicate and then go back to single to make it appear more to the center of the screen.. it is also windowed if that happens. luckily no real issue.

i think the problem had to do with my ram not being okay anymore.. but i couln't be bothered to do a ramcheck so it was time for an upgrade!
