Major lag...
Before I got Windows 7 and before the patch, my ping was about 50-70. Reasonable yet now it's been jumping around 70-200. Is it just me or is anybody else having the same problem? My desktop is XP and got the new patch yet my ping is about 40-50. Is Windows 7 causing this problem?

i myself am not familiar with windows 7 too help you any more then i have tried sorry =[ good luck on a solution hope someone helpsI regret getting windows 7 now... Sigh... Is there no other solution or a problem that would be fixed???

I'm not sure why your having problems but i'm using windows 7 64bit and i run game booster and my ping is the same as it was with XP (i have a XP partition).
Lag/ping is usually associated with other services running like msn and stuff so i use game booster and turn all these services off while playing.
The fact that you say your ping is jumping from "normal" to 700+ suggests something is starting up while your gaming.
My ping is a steady (around 125) whatever o/s i use. The only time it increases is when i forget to turn off utorrent and it starts to seed. lol -
Hmm... I hear about these game boosters, but what do they do exactly? Also, I turn everything off too. I even turn off my explorer.exe and the sidebar with all the gadgets too. My Xp desktop has 40-60 as ping, my Vista laptop had about 50-70, and now my Windows 7 have about 80-200.
