It is totally possible and people have done it without farming...just takes a lot of time (years). "If" I didn't have the VIP's, I would likely be a 3 or 4 star now and it would take another year or two to see Marshall.

Search and Destroy is the way to gi, it's fun and you earn a lot of exp. But getting to Marshal would take you a very long time without VIP's.

If you play 7 hours a day every day, yeah.
I've been playing since 2011 on this acc and im pretty active in waves. Im not even close to marshal. Rank doesnt mean anything nowadays so just play how you like without focusing on exp.
