The game won't start.

Greetings everyone,

Seems like my return to crossfire isn't that smooth. Came back to this game after 3 years and had some problem with footseps,breath and gun fire sounds. Posted about it couple of a days ago but didn't find any fix. Here again today i am facing a problem because of which the game would not start.
I have no clue what the problem is, can someone please help me here.
Thanks in advance.
PS : i have tried uninstalling and re-installing it again. That is definitely not the solution for this.

Its not quite what you need to do but its close. This issue happens when, like it says, a file has been changed. This is usually because a program (whether it be an anti-virus, a firewall, or in some rare cases even a virus itself) is blocking you from properly installing or patching. This means what you need to do is add exceptions for crossfire and all of its associated folders, files etc to your anti-virus and firewall programs. Then disable them, install fresh, and enable them again. (Make sure the exceptions are still there!) Things like poor connection can also cause this, because if your connection drops some stuff while patching, it won't get installed correctly.

If you can open cf file and scroll down to version press it and notepad should open and tell me the number you get for latestversion.

That is the version mentioned there

LatestVersion = 1282
MinimalVersion= 1164
OwnVersion = 13

Hello sir,
My firewall isn't blocking crossfire. and about my antivirus,well i dont think even that is blocking the game. this problem started showing up after me installing some other games in same directory and with certain addition software such as direct X and similar kind of software were installed. Please help me out with this.
