Confusing.....

I just downloaded the game..... and then the game tried to get the update after I downloaded the current game? This is confusing... I'm having the same problem... Uninstalled and deleted everything Crossfire and Z8 related..... Re Downloaded and Re Installed.... and Now I'm getting Failed to download bull**** again. Anyone have any advice? Because I've done this 500 times in the last 7 years... This is unreal. Thankyou

I have the same error, done like you and still not solved..the only thing i noticed that some people in my clan from sweden didnt get this error

delete backup folder and update the game

If you know any computers that is able to patch the game, you can grab the 1282 folder from their backup folder and transfer it over to your CF's backup folder.
Then run the patcher, it should be able to use the patch content and patch the game with no problem. It worked for me.

Hi Guys,

This issue should be now fixed. All you need to do is uninstall the VPN and reinstall CF. Here are some steps to help you.

Control Panel -> Z8Games -> CrossFire -> Uninstall CrossFire.
Open Up My Computer.
Delete the CF directory (Program Files/Z8Games/CrossFire/).
Delete the CF directory (/Document/CrossFire/) (Make sure you backup any screenshots or replays you may have before doing this).
Disable your anti virus.
Download the newest client from our downloads site.
Install the game from the new download.
Add the entire crossfire folder to your antivirus exceptions.
Re-enable realtime protection.
Start CrossFire as Admin.
