Crossfire will not open

Whenever i click on the crossfire icon the little box with the start and register comes up. I click start as usual and then it goes to the gameguard which disappears and then nothing. Literally. I try to see if opening it again will get it started but as soon as i click start now it says "patch client is already running" I have waited a day. I tried again and it still wont work. Does anybody else have this problem or is the game patching?
