Ping

Whenever i play cf my ping is always low but now its spiking from 40 to 2000 or 4000 it lasts about 5 seconds i see players flying around then I am dead out of nowhere. This hasn't happened to me in a while I don't know why it changed any way to solve this?

  • It could be the Servers having a few hiccups every now and then.

Or your connection just shorts out for a bit, Wireless connections tend to be rather unstable.

As for solving it, if you indeed have a wireless connection, make sure you don't have too many objects in between your Computer and Access Point, such as walls, or the like.
  • Still having same problem any other solutions?

I don't think that have too many objects between my computer and my access point could be, my computer is next to my modem.
But as I said I feel like If I had 90 of ping ._. I reg perfectly
  • Yeah im on my laptop next to my modem as well but still get 2k ping every 20seconds or so.
  • me and my friends have high ping in servers too , solve it !
  • Well i mostly have a low ping but my ping starts to spike from lets say 40 to 3000 just for 5 or 10 seconds, my screen is frozen then its completely back to normal but the problem is that it keeps happening and this can get annoying definitely in SND when you go 1v1 with someone. I've checked for viruses and done a cclearner and reset my modem but still having this problem and other suggestions?
  • If you have an Ethernet cable try connecting your laptop to the router with that, wired connections tend to be more stable.
If you can't use a cable, make sure nothing is interfering with the signal (Slower devices like phones can interfere, as well as some other wireless devices).

If your screen freezes completely, it sounds to me like it's not an internet issue, but a computer hardware issue. Is there a specific set of circumstances where it happens more often? For example, starting to shoot or get shot at, maybe changing weapons, using/getting flashed or naded, maybe smokes?
  • I read your comment on slower devices like phones can interfere as well as some wireless devices, and I got a family that uses WiFi as well which might be interfering with my ping. My screen does freeze but only for like 2 seconds or max 5 seconds then my ping goes high from 40 to 200.I did some tests and it freezes whenever it wants to i guess after shooting or getting shot at it didn't freeze, changing weapons didn't freeze just felt a little slow, using/getting flashed or naded didn't freeze, throwing smokes didn't freeze, I think it only freezes whenever it feels like. Last time i played i had a great ping like 40 or 30 but my family has gotten some new wireless devices so i believe that may be my conclusion to this problem and i can't do anything about. I guess i will be playing with a high ping from now on thanks for the help guys!
