I always found it to be a high power Shotgun, which doesn't have as much spread as the KSG for example.

The Stakeout is a 1 hit kill to the best from mid range and a 1 hit anywhere close range as long as you land all of your bullets.

I have the M37-Steakout-Ares, but I never use it though, I prefer the AA-12

I believe, from the last time I used one, its bullet spread is pretty low so it is more accurate at further distances than most shotties and consequently if you land the hit it deals more damage. But I find you're more likely to miss. And occasionally you do only hit some of the bullets from the spread and do lower damage. In a world of so many mid range shottie kill machines like the KSGs and other like shotties...it is not as good IMO. It's ammo amount before reloading is low and it feels like it reloads slower.

And when it comes to Slug Shot variants....i'd much rather have a SPAS Slug Shot than a Stakeout Slug Shot.
Outside of the AA-12 Busters in ZMs I'm not a big fan of the aa-12 to be honest. I tend to let loose with it and spray too much and too often since it's spread is so high I hit extremities and do low damage. And the VEPR is epic fun for spraying and nice in Wave/Super Soldier...but to me doesn't serve much purpose elsewhere. I'm also not a huge fan of shotties. I'd rather use a Winchester Rifle over most shotties. :P

The power is actually okay, it's just that the ammo count on the regular one is irritatingly low. Oh and the KSG is amazing, so you can't really use it as a "gp" comparison tool.
