I had this issue after log out from crossfire
I tried to re-download crossfire, it still experienced the same problem
please help!

Re-install your Crossfire again then go into your antivirus and add the Crossfire directory folder as an exception so it doesn't scan that folder and then you should be good to go!

pretty much this, plus make sure your AV is not clearing anything up when it's downloading/being installed...
