try to unequipped any ZM items you might have on your char, last I checked the item Airborne Pouch from Shattered Station is buggy and would automatically unequipped any magazine item you have on your character.

Also if you have more than one extra mag (ie a rifle mag AND machine gun mag) it won't allow you to equip either. I don't know why it's bugged like this sometimes, but it happens and to fix it all you have to do is equip one of the mags on another character that you aren't using and then the mag that you do want to currently use on your equipped character.
