Crates and Obtaining Weapons in General

So, I've been playing CF for years now, and I never questioned the whole "test your luck" crate thing. I get having some add-ons like extra mutants being rentable and certain guns being limited and all (and the GP crates. I get the reason for those too), but why in the heck are most ZP guns ONLY rentable, and the only other ways to get it are via lucky spins in the Black Market? If I pay them, say, 12 Dollars CAD and get 10,000 ZP, why should I spend that ZP on hopefully maybe having the possibility in winning a good or unique weapon? If I give them my money, I'd expect to be able to use that ZP to buy the gun I want, not on crates that give you the (low) possibility of getting it.

Its just a ridiculous way to sap the money from players. I get that this has been a thing since CF was a thing, and that it is the best way they make money, but its still an insane concept. I dont want to pay for the chance to get a weapon. I'd much rather pay and GET a new weapon (like how the VIP weapons work). Imagine having to buy VIP crates *shudders*.

  • Well yeah, most games have atleast some sort of gambling system to earn money. We used to have a "backup" for if your blackmarket luck was really bad, You could get a few nice coupon weapons and a BP weapon. Right now if you lose you basically end up with nothing. Thats also why I dont spend zp anymore.

But it would be fun if there were a few unique zp weapons for lets say 30k zp in the itemshop.

You end up with nice BP that will help and safe your live with 1-2 hp left
Lmao, the only good thing in coupon slots atm = that 100 coupon sniper and bp (My opinion)

Idk but mostly I win weapons within 50 crates, haaa lucky me

Thats what the Zodiac weapon set was supposed to be,starting with the M14 Taurus, that gun should've been a permanent in the item shop with a price close to the m4 jewelry(hence the 3d model has added parts on it so its definately not just a reskin but a "rework" too?) but instead it ended up as another crate gun.Too bad.
  • I've always thought to myself: "Hmm, I like these guns and skins, but wish there were some other ways to acquire them as opposed to having to gamble an absurd amount to even have a chance."

But thinking from Z8 perspective, the black market is their money maker and I doubt they would want to change that business model anytime soon.
  • I'd love to see a dozen or so permanent weapons purchasable for ZP in the Item Market. However, you'd have to cost factor those weapons skins and tats with what's already been made available in terms of Crates and VIPs and find what could be marketed at a decent price yet not also feel as if you're screwing over the people who bought crates to win an item....in other words if they released another m4a1-s reskin in the Item Market for ZP that was just like all the other ones that were crates...people will get mad. stat wise Item Market bought weapons should be lesser but still nice enough to be worth the purchase or at the very least have very basic skins when compared to their crate counter parts.
  • 2010 : buy 10K ZP and spin black market with a nice win rates and permanent guns in coupon slots 50,60,70,80 and 100. and you will get 1000 BP you can get permanent guns from BP mall...... So many Incentive for buy ZP

2016: buy 10k zp and spin black market and you will win some temporary guns (maybe permanent gun %0.00001) and exchange your coupons with temporary guns also :)
  • They are a business and if one way of making money is working why change it? You have to look at it with a buisness perspective. Nevertheless more ways to obtain zp guns permanently would be a cool addition.

    2010: almost no crate events.
2016: there people around with 230+ zp crates, unique guns through events.

    Gosh.
  • The crate system is based on a random number generator...
everytime you spin it randomly generates a number.. If you hit that good number congrats
  • I tell you, my luck in the Black Market is virtually non-existant. I stopped buying ZP crates after I lost 25 crates in a row without even seeing a perm weapon on the sides of the winning items. Instead, I rent out Mutants (preferably the Assassin) because I play the Mutation modes a lot. I get its a company and they need to make money, I'm just saying its ridiculous is all, especially the insanely low chance of getting a decent weapon. I doubt they're gonna change that, but I don't think theres anything wrong with expressing distaste with their system, or hoping for something better or new.
  • But in fact spinning crates on bm it's the most interesting thing on the game and without it the game might be boring ...
  • The black market has been a gamble, we all know that. For those complaining, you're not forced to spin. You get free crates from events anyway.

Because most of these guns are/were crate guns. Won't make sense to have it out perm for a certain price.
Having perm ZP weapons to buy sounds like a good idea to me, but people would complain. Good weapon? Lets complain about how easy it is to obtain it (just like VIP complains). Bad weapon? Lets complain about how this company is a rip off.
