Closing crossfire shuts down my monitor?

I been having this problem every time I close cf. I close cf and my monitor turns black and I get a "no signal" message and my monitor turns off. I can't get it to turn on unless I restart my computer which is really annoying.

Monitor : benq xl2730z
Card : gtx 970 on display port.

I tried using every resolution on cf, but I get the same thing. I am using hdmi right now, but my screen shrinks and I have two black bars that take 40% of the screen. Can anyone help me out?
