Plays.tv Recording Software Not Compatible???

Everytime I try to record a game of CrossFire with the recording software "Plays.tv", the game crashes just a few seconds after running the game from my desktop. Is there a reason for this?

  • Use Fraps or Bandicam and you should have no problems.
  • Fraps and Bandicam is like diarrhea to my computer. Also, I've only used the trial versions of both which performs even worse, to my knowledge.
  • You can get the full version. I will grab you a link off of Youtube of a working video.

  • Bandicam like diarrhea. But "plays tv" crashes. Makes sense.

    I like ezvid;

    I think it's one of the best. You can record and directly edit it. And upload straight to youtube. It also have not such a big effect on your fps.

    I will try other software first, but I will consider this for down the road. Thank you.

    It's weird because Plays.tv records every other game perfectly fine, meanwhile the other 2 normally lag like ass and even make the game slower until it eventually crashes. I'll try ezvid though.
  • I dont think that anyone above me, except s_T knows or has ever used Plays.tv. For those i will explain in short:

    With plays.tv, you dont have to record whole sessions and cut out the highlights, when you FE made an amazing headshot in a game, you just press ctrl+F2 and it captures the headshot you already made. It's not like any other video capturing software, it saves so much time. But s_T, I experience the same problem, Raptr makes my CF shutting down after a couple of minutes, Plays.tv doesn't show up in game, and that really sucks.

    The GMs are aware of this problem. All we can do for now is wait for a fix as soon as possible.

    I have used SmartPixel which is a decent recording and editing software. I have used it for a month and there hasn't been a problem with it so far.

    It's good to hear that they are aware of the problem. I really hope they are going to do something about it.

    The problem with SmartPixel is that, AFAIK, it does not have the so called buffer recording (explained in my previous post). And I don't have the time to watch whole gameplays and cut out the nice moments. But, I will probably try out SmartPixel, Thank you for mentioning that program. I hope the quality is good :D

    Yeah, you can change the quality to your liking. They offer up to 1080p recording with ultra fps settings. But like you said, the only downside is that you need to edit the clips.

    Too bad the FPS is limited to 25, and there is a watermark in the free version. If you know any, can you PM me a free full download link?

    Sadly, I don't have any links to the full download. You have to pay $15 for the full version for one year if you want to remove the watermark and fps limit. Yeah, the FPS is limited to 30 (Ultra) so I don't know how smooth the gameplay is but it should be decent.
