To add CrossFire to the exception list of Windows Firewall, please do the following:
- Open Windows Firewall by clicking the Start button
, and then clicking Control Panel. In the search box, type firewall, and then click Windows Firewall. - In the left pane, click Allow a program or feature through Windows Firewall.
- Click Change settings.
If you're prompted for an administrator password or confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation. - Select the check box next to the program you want to allow (CrossFire), select the network locations you want to allow communication on, and then click OK.
I hope that helps! - Open Windows Firewall by clicking the Start button

What about adding CrossFire folder to your anti-virus exception list? Did you run CrossFire Admin? Did you close any programs which you don't need which is running in the background before running CrossFire? -

Are you sure there are no other programs which is running in the background?
Also have you tried to re-install CrossFire? Follow these steps to re-install:- Control Panel -> Z8Games -> CrossFire -> Uninstall CrossFire
- Open Up My Computer
- Delete the CF directory (Program Files/Z8Games/CrossFire/)
- Delete the CF directory (<user>/Document/CrossFire/) (Make sure you backup any screenshots or replays you may have before doing this).
- Disable your anti virus
- Download the newest client from our downloads site
- Install the game from the new download
- Add the entire crossfire folder to your antivirus exceptions
- Re-enable realtime protection
I hope it works for you. And please reply back here with your results. Please don't create new threads. -
I did that but in vain, What should I do now, why arenot the moderators helping me or saying anything. I appreciate your try to help me but I think this is sth that cannot be repaired. It is unbearable. Should I go to a programmer.
Moderators would help and say the same as abel09 does. They are also human.. can't be 24/7 online. if they were online. they would help you. believe me
Btw, can you ''close'' disable your anti virus, and turn off your firewall etc. restart pc. and try to start. if that works. I will tell what to do.
If not sent a support ticket, or let someone maybe a mod teamviewer you. -
II appreciate your help. I always do that but it did not work. When I send a support ticket they almost every time close the ticket even if the problem is not fixed, So I do not contact them. In one of my tickets they told me to ask you guys here In the forum about the problem.
