Holy cow this game is broken!!!

Decided to come back to the game, haven't played since 2010. Well I would love to play but I can't even get to a match without an error. And it's never a specific error, just says game error. The closest I got to joining a game was a freeze at the loading screen but usually it's just the error at a random time in the menu. I tried compatibility mode to no avail. How is the game so broken? I am a gamer, I play games all day. Very demanding games like battle front. But this old game doesn't even work.

8gb ddr3 1600mhz
XFX r9 280x 3gb

You're the only one experiencing this.. Try reinstalling crossfire

Pretty much this...Try a clean uninstall (uninstall, then delete the ENTIRE Z8games folder from inside "Program Files(x86)" then restart) and re-install the game.

Quit any third party programs you have running - Game capture programs/"pc booster" type programs are known to cause errors.

The only time I've ever experienced this is when skype is open other then that CF works perfectly & this hasn't ever really been much of an issue..

Do a fresh windows install with only crossfire installed and see if that happens again.

It probably wouldn't be your anti-cheat since you got that far, but just Incase try adding the whole crossfire section to your antiviruses exceptions.

Whats the problem @the misunderstanding? Do a fresh install,see if CF works or if not,its your pc's parts issue,then add back your programs one by one untill you find the cause for Crossfire crashing.Or otherwise be happy and not play this game for another 6 years.

I turned off skype and plays tv, and it worked which is lame... What if I want to save a clip? Whatever, 2 new problems... Is this game p2p? It's a bit annoying walking around a corner and dying after being hidden for 2 seconds... I'd also really like to play with a 1000hz polling rate but I'm afraid that's just a dream. I'm going to try black shot.

Yeah, skype should be alright, but plays.tv has a conflict with CrossFire, apparently. Right now there is no fix for it, but you can try some other sort of program if you're trying to record. Personally, I don't record, so I can't really say which to use, but I've heard bandicam and fraps thrown around here and there.

Bandicam works, fraps gives an xtrap error every now and then.
