Having trouble with changing my current registered email. Have asked to speak with an actual person but keep getting an automated response.

There is no automated response there is actually a real person viewing your ticket and cross referencing all the information that you gave them. If they closed the ticket then that means you didn't provide them enough information so they know that this account is yours 100%.
