windowed mode all the time....

Hi!
I resently installed CrossFire agin after not playing for like a year.
When i put my game in windowed menu mode i get and border wich i didn't get b4 and it's windowed when i play too, now when i change to full screen everything works fine but i like when the menu is windowed and smaller so u can do stuff on the pc between games.
so do anyone know how to fix this or is it an issue with my pc settings?
