M14 Rifle

I'm sure we would all love a battle rifle in our stockpile.
Accurate, semi-auto, long range fire that's very damaging.
It was originally phased out (as the M14) in 1970 by the M16.
Ok, before you jump on the whole 'It replaced the crap M16, sux" bandwaggon hear it out.
Not necessarily does our great national army make the best inventory decisions. The only reason it is not used now is the AK needed it's full auto partner from the USA.
The DMR is perfect for the players that rely on accuracy. And, you could even sell it as a DMR -mod/adv etc. The only issue with it is that if they put the double scope (if a sniper rifle) on it there's gonna be alot of complaints about just another M700 where a reflex red dot scope would make it both unique and useful long-range pot shots.

I suggested this, it's still used in Modern Warfare by the Navy Seals and many North African terrorists so why not? However I would rather the original version that has full auto, good power but bad recoil, and a bipod with scope attached. It also had a 20-30 round magazine. Basically it's a scoped SCAR Heavy.

Lol. I'm not sure I know that gun you speak of haha. It was semi-auto, with no full auto ability. You're probably thinking about a modified M14, they got burst fires and full auto (Which fail epicly). I think that would be a bit much. Semi-auto I vote! -

I am referring to a variant that was issued during the Vietnam War (and is still used by special forces).
There were 2 common variants. One is full auto with 20-30 round magazines, one is semi auto with 10-30 round magazines. Both were issued in the Vietnam War and the full auto versions are still used today by mercenaries, terrorists and the US Navy Seals. The one you are talking about if the Designated Marksman Rifle version, which is the one used by the Marines today. Also as you said, you can modify it to full auto, but they have massive recoil as you see in 7.62mm rifles such as the SCAR Heavy and the AK47.
The one I'm talking about is in this video at certain parts: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7XIsWUvgtZY&NR=1&feature=fvwp
Finally, don't forget about the M14A1 variant, the LMG version with bipod and pistol grip. -

. . . .
Someone who knows their guns....... I can't say anything else...
EDIT: Oh.... The reason I was like, begging for the semi-auto was the fact it DID use full power rifle ammunition. -
I know, the full power ammunition defecates all over recoil, and semi auto might make it better and more of a sniper rifle (just throw in the M21 instead I suppose). Or how about we have the M14 with firing modes (they have both semi auto and full auto after all) like the FAMAS?

arn`t these guns really old, m14 sniper, m16 assault rifle, both crappy in videogames, BIG FAT NO -
M14 Sniper? Not old, it's very young (2001). M16? Yes, but it's not what we have, we have the M16A1. M16s can only have a 20 round magazine, not a 30 and it's rate of fire is much faster and jamming is more frequent. Get your facts right before you start trolling everyone. Also, neither gun is crap, they are both formidable weapons. The M14 sniper is very powerful and well done in video games, I remember the one in the SOCOM series which was beautiful. The original M16 was highly accurate and had a very fast rate of fire and were very light for guns at the time, very effective firearms. Just unreliable.
Congratulations, you are now a member of the "Crossfire Troll Tool" clan. -

You told him :]
Also, we use M16A4's >.O Well, we still use the A1's since our military is fail like that.
But yeah. GG. -
the M16 came from the AR-10 (i think thats the right number) which had a lot of innovative features which the M16 adopted several of, and you'd think if a whole army from a country that's regarded as a super power is using a gun for 40 or 50 years now it isn't exactly terrible
it's just not that great in crossfire
i'd like to see more battle rifles like the G3 and FN FAL in Crossfire i just wish they wouldn't do what they did to the SCAR-H which is give it 30 rounds(im sure they could make a magazine that big but still that's not the mags any military org uses that uses the FN SCAR) and make it semi auto, making hard to use because of it's difficulty to control
i mean it would have been great if they kept it semi auto why suba why... and now why Z8 why do you keep it automatic -

AR-15. dot dot dot dot dot dot dot dot dot dot -
I suggested the other day an AR-10 + Bayonet to be honest, I myself would like to see more battle rifles such as the M14, the FN FAL and the G3.
Also I know the military uses the M16A4, it's standard issue now. I was referring to in Crossfire in which it is the M16A1 variant. And they don't use the AR10, it's other countries that do. They prefer the smaller 5.56x45mm rounds over 7.62x51mm.

but i know the M16 was based off the AR10
if they added an M16A4 that was more M4ish but still had the AK47 feel that the M16 haz, i'd get it -
That applies to almost any gun though, even more so with Battle Rifles that go off target after 2 shots. The M16s though have very high accuracy and low recoil due to the 5.56mm round they use, in the right hands you could get quite extended bursts with it.
-
unfortunately not with CF's m16, it's accurate first shot but recoil seems to throw it off so horrenduslly ima have to try using it again soon because it's not a bad gun, it's just not goodThat applies to almost any gun though, even more so with Battle Rifles that go off target after 2 shots. they should make the scar heavy semi auto, it'd be better and easier to use -
Yeah Crossfire's M16 is more like a weak AK47, so unrealistic like every gun in the game, like the massive power difference between Steyr AUG and SCAR yet they use same rounds for example. A semi auto SCAR Heavy though would be nice too, the full auto is useless with the recoil and slow rate of fire anyway.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/United_States_Marine_Corps_Designated_Marksman_Rifle My brother will probably be issued one once he completes his tech training as a member of the USMC, hes going in as EOD. This weapon will probably never enter CF though. Too many people would nerf it down to nothing.
