Guys, Please Show Sportsmanship

You really expect a bunch of computer nerds sitting her playing Crossfire and other games in their moms basement taking part in real life community like organized sports?
I dont know how it is in other countries but here u either have ppl doing sports or staying nerds in basements at their mommys house.
And the problem is computer games dont teach u game ethics and sportmanship out of the simple reason u dont see your opponent in real life.
Hes just some pixels in the game could even be a bot.
If u do sports or other games which need to interact face to face like boardgames or sports or other such things u have to learn sportsmanship or noone wants to play with you anymore again. -
lol a thread about sportsmanship and flaming, and theirs flaming on the thread.
im one to say GG after every match, even though i usually get stomped. sure ill call out a blatant hacker, but only when its obvious, and after i die, they preaim off into the distance where my teammates names are >.< -
actually your right i don't expect them to learn sportsmanship out of a game, but its pretty sad that after a game that you did very well in someone starts whispering you about your mom and starts going overboard in insults instead of a courteous yet simple "GG",but hey, i cant make them be nice.@ IIAceII

In my opinion a clan decides how it wants to be seen.
Serenity, countless warning if you stepped out of line. Did its best to ensure members did not accuse others of hacking, did not allow communication to the other team unless it was gh, gg, etc.
While Serenity had and still has a fairly good reputation, it took a lot of effort from the leaders of the clan to ensure it had that reputation.
Most other clans, do not aim to control the individuals that make up the group as much as in Serenity. While it is nice and well to be polite, unless there are rules about being nice. I highly doubt many people in FPS games aside from the few that have older communities to play nice.
Regardless, if it bothers you that much just block them. Its a scrim, dont expect anything from it in some leagues I would expect players from both teams to act in a more mature fashion however outside of leagues, ladders and tournaments I could honestly care less. -

Yeh yeh i bet your thinking "Yup, another one of those noobs. He can go QQ in the rookie server"
But seriously think about it.
You were a "Noob" once too
I get called a noob for pwning someone etc etc
Heres the dictionary definition for sportsmanship
n.
1. The fact or practice of participating in sports or a sport.
2. Conduct and attitude considered as befitting participants in sports, especially fair play, courtesy, striving spirit, and grace in losing.
"The opposing team showed good sportsmanship when they came around to shake our hands after they lost."
Most of the time i say GG after a match, even if i get pwnd
Lets see who agrees/disagrees

The problem is easy, there is no respect for others in this online games i have noticed trying a few.
The only solution would be buying a bunch of flight tickets, visit them at their moms basement and polish their teeth wit Mr. Bat.
After this isnt really a working solution the best way is chatblocking. -
No respect?
As long as a team is willing to show my team respect, we'll give it right back.
When we play scrims and the other team is calling us cheaters, we're not going to be nice to them in the least.
But a good, close scrim with both teams putting some heart in, and you'll feel a whole other vibe. People will be saying "nice shot" etc. At half time its always "Good Half" and at the end of the game, win or lose "Good Game"
Physical violence solves about as much as words like "basement dwelling nerd"
Just because your experience is limited only to pubs does not mean you should assume that is all the community is. -

I know you are talking to my bud, Ace, but I just would like to point out that just because you don't play sports doesn't make you a nerd.
/my two cents -
There is respect and there is no respect, calling someone hacker, chammer is ok if accustumed to it.
But there are alot of other affronts like the loves motherf***er and others, which most pple wouldnt use face to face to someone especially if this someone is 10 ore more years older, earns his own money and other things.
I was in a clan until today and did some clan matches, but even then can affronts come up.
Thats a problem all over the internet not only in online games. There is online mobbing etc.
The inhibition threshold is nit as high as in real life.
Focusshift, u are right here, i dont wanted to offend someone, but i never met a nerd playing sports
after all i was talking from my experience. -

well that's understandable i guess, but where i come from to play a sport u have to have a lot of mental toughness and you have play the sport smart and not to mention that the whole basketball team in my town had to have straight a's or u cant play because the coach was really strict grade wise. Im not saying that brawn isnt useful but in all sports your mentality is more useful.so what im saying is that im a nerd and ive played varsity basketball since my freshmen year.(allthough now i play less since im out of school) -

1) It's fetish.
& 2) The signature post is annoying (IMO, I don't care) and have you even SEEN his post?
It's like "Hello guys, flame me please I'm asking for it". The post wasn't constructive. The thread starter was trying to make a point and get a feel of everyone's views on sportsmanship. A good thread is hard to come by on the Barracks so why try to be a thread killer right from the start. If he didn't understand the meaning he should have re-read it then posted after he had gotten a feel of what the thread was about.
Dictionary.com could have helped.

i couldn't have said it better myself -
thank you Kahlann . we do try and keep things civil and nothing will put a clan on our "will not play" list faster than rude and ignorant behaviour . just ask ....well there are a few out there who know what i'm talking about . heheProbably one of the only clans we have faced that will continue to face us and not call any 'hackusations'.
Respect for Clan Mega.
,.., -
well you are right we need more sportmanship,
Frog i dont know who you are trying to be all cool putting a pic in all ur post but ur annoying
ur annoying , i dont know why u think u can be posting anything , and u for sure ant got the right to talk crap to anyone on here -
Kahlann, thankyou for your outspoken compliment for my clan. I take great pride in our sportsmanship and conduct. When we win or lose we always GG the other team even if they are suspicious. We are now saving replays of suspicious clans and making a list of the clans who has members who h4ck. Also going on the list is clans who have members who are blatantly rude and we refuse to play them. We're getting quite a list made so far.
