Dropping a pistol

How come upon your death a sidearm is not dropped?

I mean, as cool as it is to have to prise it from someones cold, dead hands it just doesn't work in the game.


I have been almost kicked from pistols matches because of running out of ammo, and having to knife people. After I explained that, died, then started shooting again people understood.


I also had times where I accidentally tossed my secondary, someone snatched it up, then when they died I could not re-aquire it. If you play, as I frequently do, without a rifle this can be a major kink in the action.

It would also allow people to try the pistols without having to buy one, much like with rifles and the black-market.


I can understand not dropping melee weapons, but the sidearm should be allowed to be picked up.



... Although I have to say it is funny to put 2 Deag rounds in someone, get killed, have them toss down their rifle to pick up whatever you had, realise you had nothing they could get, then get owned in the confusion...
