Hackers/Chammers/etc... [Discipline Suggestion]
The rate of hackers and/or chammers is growing at a high rate, more and more each month (#GameGuardFail). Is it worth the while to submit .CFR's & SS's to issue a general account ban? Most whom have been playing this game a while KNOW, he/she who's hacking/chamming already has another account, and if they don't; Upon getting 'banned' they simply create another. So wins here?
I see it as it is;
- He/She who's hacking gets a couple games in with a smile, disrupting play for NUMEROUS others.
- He/She receives an 'Account Ban'
- Repeat
It's not black & white, but it's not rocket science. The system of discipline is pointless and ultimately solves nothing. I KNOW multiple conversations have come up regarding numerous different gaming Guards, but at the end of the day, ALL FILTERS HAVE A LOOP HOLE. I've been playing FPS games since 1999 online, and competing on Socom (PS2-PS3), ALL GUARDS & FILTERS HAVE A FAULT. What makes the repercussions more affective is the severity of the discipline (ban, suspension, etc...).
My suggestion is;
- Permaban/Banning Physical Address
Banning ONLY the account leaves a backdoor open for the player to continue playing by their rules, disregarding the ones the CF Team have implemented. Banning the address of their physical machine would teach a MORE valuable lesson. Issuing suspensions that grow with the # of occurrences into a Permaban. Sadly a LARGE population of the consumer base can tell you, it's getting a bit tiresome. Are we pleasing or ignoring the issue at hand for the consumer base whom pump your pockets pull of that papel that keeps the lights on every month? The system and script isn't complicated, ALOT of systems use this to block visitors, but reversed for gamers when issuing 'suspensions'.
All in all...'Account Banning' isn't doing a thing. Allowing the number of hackers to grow with no SERIOUS repercussions is what is going on. Blame it on GameGuard, blame it on whomever...at the end of the day, the team needs to worry about THEIR product. Starting with actions and/or lines of preventing , thus setting the example is where it NEEDS to begin.

The IP ban is useless, but like he suggested, the Banning of the Physical Computer Address might be something, Z8 Games should think about. Coz this would solve the hacker problem pretty fast, when their maschines just wont be allowed to connect to the Game Servers of Z8 anymore.

Making IP-adress + account banned from crossfire helps because:
Making new acount AND new IP-adress takes time. If it takes too long the h@ckers get bored and they stop..
Reporting hacckers should go much faster!
Little suggestion:
Kicking a player for illegal programs should be sended to a special group of GM's. The GM's can look if it is true and if it isn't true the player who tried to kick him should get a message that the player wasn't h@cking. Maby he could get a penalty or something. The played who got kicked for h@cking can earn his xp and gp from that game back, so the player who got kicked still didn't the game for nothing.
I know this cost money for Z8 games or gameguard, but it would be só much better.. -

making a new IP address is really easy, just use the CMD with ipconfig/release then ipconfig/renew -

Not ALL internet providers are dynamic though. I personally have Version, and I can't force a reset, BUT if I turn off my router for 30mins-2hrs my IP will change automatically. It's protocol. Case & Point, there are TOO MANY backdoors to the 'IP Ban'. A hacker goes the extra lengths to exploit the game, and they WILL exploit an 'IP Reset'.
Honestly, before anymore Weapons, Maps, etc... They should roll out the carpet for 'Concept & Developments' and work on the core structure of this game rather than the function. I understand the fact of pleasing the consumers, but build a firm and secure foundation... -
Honestly- Anymore too many internet providers are too lenient; ALOT to do w/ internet attacks of your identity and such. Anymore you can make a 2min phone call to have your provider reset and/or reassign a new IP address. Whether you have Dynamic, Automatic or Static. ALL IP ADDRESS ARE EASILY RESET. Banning the MAC Address (or Physical CPU Address) is the way to do it. The ONLY way an individual whom exploits the faults of gaming may receive access would be;
- GM's
- New Hardware (Modem, Router, CPU, etc...)
It's frustrating to see a quality company take little to NO steps forward in preventing interface tampering. There are OBVIOUS means of preventing '2nd Offenders', but the system in place currently is more of a waste of energy; Frankly- A waste of time for people to save, upload and submit. Am I wrong for saying that? I understand these hackers are financial providers, but this, the reason people leave games and fund another product. Build a better reputation for working vs. the issue, apposed to with...I feel like I'm stepping on toes with this issue, and the way I'm moving forward with my wording, but I have some BIZARRE luck in playing with habitual offenders...
BAN THE HARDWARE, NOT THE INTERNET PROTOCOL ADDRESS!!
please? -
wont work dude..they just going to change their ip..and they can play again with that same character...no matter what..hacks and banns wont stop hackers =.=" thats like arresting a villian...he or she will find a way out and he or she can be a villian again if he or she wanted to..normally after the huge ban, a human wuld be scared to do it again, it isnt worth it but still ppl out there will change ip and hack again =.="

I sort of understand what your saying; But I PERSONALLY am not talking about an IP Ban, I'm arguing AGAINST it. Issuing Bans againt MAC and Physical Address. Banning the Hardware Address(es) instead of the internet protocol. The ONLY way around a Hardware ban is purchasing NEW hardware (CPU, Router, Modem, etc...) or a GM lifting the ban. No other way out of it... -
Forget man, did you see some one from Z8 answer our questions? They don't care... the numbers are going up every day, with more money and players, so what is the problem?? any! only if people really leave this game and join other, and the numbers start to go down, they will think what could be the reason. And even than, they create a promotion for some... but ban the hackers, never. They are clients, you pay to play. And everyone start to hack. In a S&D game i can secure you that in 12 players at least, 4 are hackers. So the message is clear, "HACK OR LEAVE THE GAME, WE DON'T CARE"
-
OVER ALL just do it already..
IF YOU CARE SO MUCH ABOUT THE MONEY ETC.. THEN THINK TWICE.
I can assure you that you have more legit player who pay money for ZP etc rather then hakors.. if you dont prevent the hakors you will loose good players and lots of money.
I am one of them. Tired of playing with nothing bt hakors. Please start caring more aobut the people who play and love your game rather then money, otherwise you will loose both money and legit players. -
Nukkarachee is exactly right... Why would a hacker pay to get ZP? The legit players are the ones who are supporting Z8 financially, not the cheaters. Banning MAC addresses is the best possible solution to eliminating these people who make the game miserable for legit players by compromising the integrity of the game. BTW we are not talking about IP address banning so if u don't know the difference, don't post saying it wouldn't work because they can get a new address

WAR FAIR PLAY! -
Lmao, you want them to ban Mac-adresses? That's absurd. Would take too much time and btw, you can sell your pc.
So when someone buys a computer, get's his MAC banned, he quits playing crossfire but one day he thinks damn this machine is rubbish and he sells it.
He sells his computer to some kid that can't buy a new one or doesn't need a monster pc. This kid buys the computer thinking YAY! now I can play crossfire without having to install it on my parents their machine!
So yeah, this kid can't play crossfire and he thinks wtf why can't I play it.
Banning mac adresses from a website is like banning people from the world. Kinda medieval.
Oh and another thing. Those people speculating about a hardware ban, you guys really, I mean REALLY fail..
Go support the chase against hackers by reporting them and growing good at the game so you can pwn their asses.
