sound driver - yes ANOTHER computer thread =)

hello AGAIN. on my journey to make my computer back to where it was, i come across what seems to be my LAST problem (besides downloading internet explorer 8..)

SOUND! yes sound, i dont have any lol. after i reinstalled my windows XP i dont have sound.

i went to dell website, gave them my info, and i have 4 things to choose from.

now im no genius, but i would say the one that's 'urgent' haha. but really, ive made mistakes, so i need a hand to hold while i do this

I think you should download the ADI 198x Driver

okay dude you said you reinstalled windows, what about the drivers? do you have a cd of the drivers? you should have done a backup

i reinstalled every system cd i had, i had to download my graphics card seperate and now my sound. i dont know why they didnt get put on, i used every cd i have. unless im missing one.

and yea, i see why i should download the adi, because its a driver, but why is it optional and the other is urgent, when its a patch? this is what confuses me
