Can't connect to channel

I can log in crossfire perfectly fine, but when I try to go in a server , it would say "Notice: Connecting to channel " but the message stays there . (As if the channel was full.) The back round still moves though. ( I restarted my computer and re-downloaded it.) A couple times I went past the channel but if I click on a room , the same thing happens but a different message pops up. It's been almost a week now. Is there a way to fix it?
