Game's a little choppy

So I recently tried to get back into CF after a long break. When I got back the game was really choppy for some reason, anyone have any useful suggestions?

Are you using a computer that should be fully capable of playing Crossfire, or are you running on an older computer?

Make sure your not running any other unnecessary programs well playing CF. They all take up RAM and CPU cycles even in stand-by mode. It also suggest to Defragment your computer so any new content doesn't take time for your computer to find.
