X-Trap Error Box - Show Them Here
Here's the X-Trap Error Box message I'm receiving that's preventing me from playing CrossFire for the last several days. Photo taken Nov. 24, 2013 - 11.41 am C.S.T..

I have never had any lengthy problems or issues with this game until now. I know it isn't a virus, malware/spyware, etc., because I run several security programs on all of my computers & I keep them very clean.
I know there is or has been a CF Server(s) issue they are dealing with, so.... I'm just advising what my problem is so the Admin/Creators/CF Team will know, plus, if anyone has any reasonable sound advice or help to give, let's hear it, please. Thanks. ツ
I'm a loyal & avid CrossFire player who's been on board since the game was practically invented. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that this issued is resolved in short order, too.

19941990, CCleaner is my main computer cleaner & has been for many many years. I also use "Free Internet Window Washer" plus "Glary Utilities". I've ran each of the these more than a few times since the CF "X-Trap" error fiasco began & it has not helped one bit other than to do my computers normal cleaning. Thanks for the suggestion though. ツ

lGazl, tried your idea & it didn't work - same error (box) message. I went to the X-Trap folder, copied & pasted all of the items to another (new made) folder, just for safety reasons, then went back to the X-Trap folder, deleted everything out of it, ran Cross Fire, got to the X-Trap update boxes once again, then received the same X-Trap error (box) message. So, I went & restored the X-Trap folder's contents. Next idea! lol Thanks for your helpful suggestion though. ツ

oh, well I figured since it worked for me, I'd post.
By the way :P You don't need to save any copies of the stuff in the xtrap folder (or move them). You can just delete them. The xtrap patcher automatically puts the necessary ones back into your Xtrap folder during patching.

lGazl, thanks my friend. I hope your luck continues & CF gets this figured out soon. I believe when I finally get to return, I will have lost so many weapons/items from "Wheel Spins" plus box & safe opens, etc., it's going to be a very frustrating time. I don't expect anything more from CF other than getting the game running smoothly once again but it would sure be darn nice if they could reward us all with a good deal of gifts upon our return to a working smoothly game. ツ
PS: Personally speaking, I wish they'd just dump X-Trap's worthless arse & get another company or whomever to take care of CF's security. It would be the best & smartest move they could make, in my opinion. -
It is 6:46 pm C.S.T. in Illinois on Monday 11-25-2013. I just tried starting CF ten times & each time I'm still getting the same X-Trap error box message as before. What is the deal here?!?
This crap is really getting old fast! Grrrr!!!! Trash X-Trap.... it's a POS! Get someone else or another company to provide security & move the heck on! Thank you!
PS: Anybody have an opinion on the FPS "War Rock", or what's some other decent freebie FPS online computer games? We might as well discuss something that will aim towards a positive outcome.... it sure isn't CF at this time. LOL! ;-)

I've uploaded my XTrap folder if you'd like to try and replace yours with mine. (simply delete the files in your XTrap folder located in C:/Program Files/Z8Games/XTrap and paste my files into it)
Please remember this is an external download, and could be malicious as I am just an internet stranger, however I assure you it contains nothing harmful.

If that doesn't work, then it's probably because of the anti-virus software that you're using. It's most likely blocking the connection between your computer and XTrap because it believes that the XTrap connection could be potentially malicious, however it's not, that's called a false-positive. Try turning off your anti-virus software and restarting Crossfire. -

However.... I must have a CF Angel watching over me tonight/this morning.... LOL! :-D
I'm not exactly sure of what just happened, if CF fixed something or I did, BUT, I just decided to reboot my computer for sh*tz & giggles, run all of my cleaners across my machine, then I decided to go give yet another try to CF, it started up, reached the X-Trap area, then all of a sudden BOOM, X-Trap UPDATED, & CF STARTED right up. I didn't do anything different or anything that I hadn't already tried, or even tried punching my computer.... but TADA! it WORKED! CF is now working beautifully! Thank Goodness!
Faith in humanity.... & Cross Fire.... RESTORED! Mark this issue as SOLVED! Whew!!!! LOL! ツ
PS: This website is now running normally & not bogging down or lagging any. -
