it still doesnt work... some people had it saturday and was fixed sunday some had yesterday and fixed it with reinstall today i had it for first time and no fix, not reinstall not by copy the v ersion.ini from a friend and make read only (althou taht opens hgwc but it freezes directly)..... i tried alot of things -
Saidin, same issue here for me. I run the game, hit the start button and nothing shows up, then anywhere from 5-30 mins passes by and I get an error saying failed to download the version.ini or something along those lines, I checked the version.ini in my crossfire folder and it is empty (not sure if this is the problem but), I saw a few fixes on here saying to paste a list of things into the version.ini which I tried but it wouldn't give me permission to save in that file!

We have tested internally here, in 2 cases.
1) A brand new machine installed CF from the website with no issues.
2) A machine with CF already on it, crossfire was uninstalled then downloaded from the website then reinstalled and the game patched with no issues.
We're checking with our technical team to see if there is any issue.
When the version.ini of the game doesn't match that of the server the game won't let you run. Something is preventing this check from happening on your PC, however we need some time to determine what the issue is. -
Its a mistake in the version.ini file.
open it and paste this in the file. :

It does check somehow, and only a few have this.... and some ppl it was few days ago.... Now it does read! cuz i mad it read only but then hgwc freezes. What happens if i dont makei t read only: it becomes empty again. I took version.ini of someone who has a workign cf... i tried it on a newly installed cf, and it patches the file after making it read only but also the hgwc will freeze directly, aalthou hgwc only opens after 5minuts T.T....[GM]Saidin wrote: »We have tested internally here, in 2 cases.

to be short: it still isnt solved to some.......
making my version.ini ok and read only gets me trough but then hgwc just freezes instant so its not a good solve method, neither is reinstalling.... Hope u will fix it soon, i am here to help
Yea but at least that's a step further... I wasn't getting anything to come up.
