Nvd3dum.dll fix! (NEW METHOD)
I did some research on the internet, and this error is not specifically for Crossfire, so I downloaded this .dll fixer (http://www.dll-files.com/dllindex/dll-files.shtml?nvd3dum)
Run it as an admin, the nvd3dum.dll will already exist on your system, override it, Vala!
Also I would recommend downloading Advanced System Care, getting a key off the internet and fixing your registry. If you've never run a program like this, it will have (probably) a lot of errors.

Quite possible it happened shortly after: Either -a manual driver upgrade or -automatic update (if you have automatic updates turned on. ) If you have a new driver installed, parts of the old one may still be there causing problems.
Most Nvidia drivers updates give the option for a 'clean install' which means that it will remove the old driver before installing the new one. If this doesnt work then
Try these steps
-Rollback your Nvidia driver*right click* My Computer - click Properties - click the Hardware tab - select Device Manager
*in Device Manager* select Display Adapters - right click your Nvidia card - select properties
select Rollback Driver and 'OK'
-then^Use the same method above and select Uninstall when you get to that screen ^
-Now, after you've uninstalled , install the latest driver.Go through it's proceedings- reboot after installing
-Then run the game. -

We've also seen someone get this problem who doesn't even have an Nvidia card. So we're not entirely sure what could be going on here.
We're hoping X-Trap will be able to shed some light on the error code and what it might be doing.
The driver is definitely related to NVidia though. -

This morning, I was able to play crossfire. But this afternoon, I got my internet switched and now I am getting this error without even having an Nvidia driver...could it have something to do with the internet maybe? -
I got my game to work for all Nvdia errors go to
http://www.nvidia.com/Download/index.aspx?lang=en-us
Have it automatically look for a update and let it do it for you after its done see if you can get into the game
For other people with out nvida go to your sites and update them from there and see it if works to

Just download the right driver for your graphic card from the Nvidia site - start and follow the setup...easy like that - and reboot after the installation.
I recommend to choose the custom installation from the setup to install only the things you really need (Main-driver, PhysX,...).

Do you got my message ?
Ok I am leaving in 5min - good luck anyway
Btw I don´t recommend to uninstall the Nvidia display diver at the "Device Manager" - like that only the main display files are uninstalled - but there is much more installed beside the main driver files belonging to the Nvidia display driver - this stuff is still there if you go this way and can be a big hassle when trying to install a new driver...
Better uninstall the driver at the "Control Panel > Programms"...and also do a cleaning after this...(if WinXP with Driver Cleaner PE in safe mode)...
