Note: Fake GM Accounts
GM = Game Moderator/Game Manager
Many players have been confronted in-game by players with names similar to GMs, asking for personal information. You must know that these are NOT GMs. You will NEVER be asked by a GM for your personal information, so rather than risking your account, make a precautionary step and take a screenshot of the player who is claiming to be a GM, then report it immediately.
If you're interested in seeing who exactly is a Game Moderator or a Forum Moderator, please check out this thread. These are the only Moderators, any others are imposters, and need to be reported immediately.
Just looking out for you guys, keep your accounts safe!

I was playing in Lab in GR and was doing what I normally do.
A guy named "OCGEvan" on BL got mad and called me a hacker and said I'm not allowed to play in any OCG tournament.
Here's his profile. Some competitive gamer with that 0.75 KDR.

That's Evan, the CEO of OCG, in a clan called Tiger, which hates hacker. GG Evan. GG. -

GMs could also be known as Game Managers and Game Masters. Anyways, the above link pretty much tells you everything. If you really fall for "Free ZP if you tell someone your account info", then there's nothing else anyone can do. There's been precautions all these times about these types of scams and I'm quite sure that most users in this community has no trouble determining who is a real GM/MOD and those that attempt to impersonate them.
Another thing I would also include is that do not fall for FB scams either. It's a social media and it's the Internet. GMs do not use Facebook. 100% of the time someone tells you he or she is a GM of CrossFire, do not trust that. Likely the person will be trying to obtain your account info. It is not surprising how often something like that happens on a daily basis. -
If they are dumb enough to fall for it, they deserve to lose their account. Simple as that.
Not everyone has been informed of such scams. That is much like saying that the elderly deserve to fall victims of fraud because they arent as technologically knowledgeable as we are. -
There are a few moderators lingering around outside that clan..... But thanks for the notification!
The moderators would NEVER ask you for your account information.
For that matter, an actual staff member, Game Master or Game Manager would also never ask you for your account information in game.
Thanks to the original poster for the reminder. It's worth remembering this stuff and to be careful with your accounts! -
Can you apply to be a GM and if you can how can I see that the new GMs are that? Can I see that on the Mod namecard or something like that?
You could apply to be a GM, but you'd probably need to meet qualifications, and I have no idea if they're actually hiring right now.
When new moderators are hired, it's announced through the Crossfire Announcements section on the Forums. -
This isn't the place to bring that up. Please contact Evan directly, maybe he would be willing to have a versus match with you to prove that you are legit.
Man, even big guys call legitimate players cheaters. I doubt a 1v1 would solve anything. -

Aren't they people who volunteer to improve the CF community. If they are hired ( meaning getting paid on the job), wouldn't they be considered GMs rather than MODs?? -

Anyways, this should be posted on FaceBook, it's already on the home page, but an official announcement .
And if they're still stupid enough to lose it... -

It should be posted on Facebook. It's just became a reoccurring event that should be dealt with.
