US west high ping?

So my ping in the us west has gone up by 50 ping. That is alot. old ping was 175 and now my ping is 240. I live in australia so us west is best ping i get. when i play in alpha i get 245 ping. it doesnt take 5 extra ping to travel alot of miles.. Does anyone else experience this? i know that many of my us west friends have. my friend with usually 25 ping has gotten 70+ ping. hope someone helps!
