1.I know how mice work and what not, but what does adjusting dpi do?
Like 1000 dpi compared to 4000
im thinking of uograding my stock gateway mouse lol.
2.Is there a lot of fiddling te first week or so you buy a new gaming mouse?
1. I can´t tell you. I´m nooby at mices.:)
2. What? Try to explain it slow and good...oo -
DPI is a measure of how sensitive your mouse is.
You have your in game sensitivity and your mouse sensitivity basically.
So at 800 dpi (standard crap mouse) you might play with 50 in game sensitivity, but at 2000 dpi (sexy Razer mouse) you might play at 5 sensitivity.
Not to mention you have window sensitivity as well, which I just left at 3.
So yes, there is a bit of tweaking to be done when you buy a "real" mouse, but its worth it in the long run. -
Check out Razer

or SteelSeries

Logitech is more of a "starter" gaming gear type, but some people swear by their stuff and it is a bit cheaper.
Also, a fancy mouse is nothing without a good surface to use it on, both websites sell some impressive stuff though. -

I use a Logitec MX518, I personally love logitec software, they've never done me wrong, I even have an old joystick from 95 that works like a charm
what you want is a mouse that will give you a high enough sensitivity rating (dpi) to be very precise, for those head shots, but with an adjustable speed setting, so that you can still move as slow or as fast as you d before, the difference?
I just upgraded from a wireless, with a low DPI rating a little while ago, while I pwned before I got this mouse, it was like unlocking a whole new level of skill I couldn't gain access to because I didn't have the right credentials, it may still move at the same speed as before, but it's a much smother motion, pinpoint accuracy, so I don't have to sorry about sliding my mouse to the left, and having it jump over the guys head in Monaco, I can slide it, and it moves with the precision I need it to
as a bonus, my particular mouse allows me to change from customized speed settings on the fly, with buttons at the tip of my fingers, really helps me out sometimes, when that high speed is just too high for the distance I'm aiming, so that I don't need to open my options just to take one shot, ya don't got that time in game
.
while slim is nice in a mouse, make certain the mouse fits your hand, often people chose a gun because it "feels right" to them, likewise, chose a mouse that feels right to you, but make certain you have that DPI rating high enough, you can always adjust the speed yourself, the difference is most noted when doing long distance fighting, which is quite common in crossfire, and it's just as good/better close up.
that's my opinion anyways :P. -
it has nothing to do with the mouse, spoiled little rich kids buy those to show off, if yur pro u can just use an ordinary mouse to own it up
Use this mouse:

If you can make a decent montage with that mouse. Props to you.
