Help me record for Youtube?

I was wondering how people record videos for Youtube without black lines? I have a 24" monitor and everytime I try and record at 1024x768 with FRAPS I get black lines... the only way I don't get black lines is if I install CF Tool and put the resolution to 1920x1080 but the video looks laggy and weird at that resolution so I was wondering how lets say CFBrando or Razzlez record at 1024x768? Any tips please help... my Youtube for test videos is Youtube.com/SirDontJudgeMeh

It's best to record at 720p or 1080p. If the video looks laggy, it's because your processor and GPU aren't running fast enough to process the .AVI. Just render the video and it should play fine with no lag. The black bars are because the resolution you're recording in and playing on do not match. Your recording resolution is higher than the game resolution. Normally, to get rid of it when both resolutions are the same is to not maintain aspect ratio. Since you're using Fraps, try recording in full size instead of half size. Be aware that recording in full size may cause you to lose FPS during recording.
