ok its a registry issue what you need to do is fix it i would sujest trying ccleaner for registry issue or look for another program that fix's registry issues then your cf should work fine

run ccleaner and analynze and then run cleaner....and then it should work?

should i be lookin for anything to clean out?

I ran CCleaner and wen i tried to run crossfire it did not work.... i ran ccleaner like 4 times lol.

did you click registry then scan for issue cleaner doesnt do registry XD

try restaring you computer and if that doesnt work try reinstalling or redownloading and reinstalling

i have windows 7 now and sometimes getting this error then i just run the game as admin and its working again but i dont now if that gona help for you but for me it always working...

I've the same error
and this is the right solution i've done
right click on game icon
then choose run as administrator
just it...

You have to run as an Administrator for it to work.

If you are using Windows Vista or 7, try turning off the User Account control. This prevents certain programs from running and I have personally found this blocks the patcher_cf.exe which results in the runtime error 5 message.
Go to control panel, then user accounts, click on change user account control. Set this to either low on Windows 7 or off. Then try the game again.

Mine did the same thing... Error '5' idk how to fix it and when i read this i understand nothing... what is a ccleaner and a registry or w.e. where do i get these? or where do i find them? help? post link? message me link to them, tell me how to find them. please

I have a solution

I have a solution for CF_G4box "run time error 5". 1st Are you going to drive (c) and the "Z8games" and you get to "CF_G4box". 2nd Right click and "Run as administrator". 3rd "start" and Play
