CrossFire Heat up my laptop.

So when i play crossfire it heat up my laptop. And that weird, cause my laptop don't heat up when i play others games like League of legends, or maplestory. I put on all the lowest setting when i play as well?. Any tip to help cool down my laptop beside, buy a fan.

Going To Use Game Booster. Nope it heated up much faster. So no Game Booster...

Look like the only thing that will help is by buying a fan or a new set up is the only thing I can do. Thanks to all that help I think.

  • CF uses a lot more CPU power than those games.

    hence wil;l heat up more

because the hamsters have to run faster to power it, the running on the wheel causes the wheel to rotate.

The rotation causes friction (as its moving) and thus creates heat (and a little bit of noise)

hence why your pc runs hot.

well that explain why. So got tips to help cool it down while playing crossfire?
  • You can close unneeded programs and background process to free up some CPU processes.

Umm it's normal for the CPU to heat up... But I'll ask: how hot is it getting?

well it hot enough to burn my hand. If that helps...
  • I have a good solution that requires no upgrades or any other programs:

Put the laptop in the freezer whilst playing Cross Fire.

or just buy a laptop cooler
  • My sis's laptop (use to be mine) has this problem where everytime she just goes on and after a while of gaming or anything else it overheats and shutsdown, best way is to get a laptop cooler (she used a fan) and she got it cleaned and it's not as hot as before.

If your laptop beings to heat up a lot all of a sudden, or beings to shutdown due to overheating, it means your heatsink is beginning to fail. Too much heat is being generated that the heatsink can't dissipate enough heat in time. If you don't want to invest into a new system, whether it be a laptop or desktop, go to your local PC Repair shop and tell them your problem. They will usually replace your heatsink within' the same week. If they don't have the parts, they will send it out to get it fixed. Getting your heatsink replaced isn't very costly. A cooler is also an alternative and very cheap, but it can only go so far where your heatsink will ultimately fail completely and you will have to replace the heatsink or purchase a new system.

not gonna lie, fairly high last night, dont remember writing that...but seems legit.

OT: Try and elevate the laptop to improve airflow to help it cool down...

If it's trapped (on your lap//bed) no air can circulate, hence it gets very hot and can overheat and shut down...
