Under The Dome - Anyone Watch?

Just finished watching the Season 1 finale. I heard it's based off a book series, can anyone confirm this? If so, how is the series, and is the show anywhere near accurate?

pretty sure its based on under the dome by steven king, a (just the one) novel.

but hes a very psychological writer so i'd expect to find similarities in all his books.

haven't started on steven king yet so i can't comment on novel vs. tv similarities.
just finished grinding all Lee Child/Reacher novels, now i'm doing John Steinbeck (Graapes of Wrath etc), then it might be King time!

hes got a loooot of books adapted to cinema/television, so its probably good stuff.

Yeah, I've heard of him. I had no idea that it was based off of one of his novels. I'm interested in reading it since the season 1 finale leaves off with a huge cliff-hanger..

I TiVo'd the first season. Transferring them to my computer. I assume it will at least be good because its from Stephen King xD.
