Help please! Lag out... Ping issue!

I got a ping issue. Every 10 minutes, my ping goes so high like 1922, then it goes to it's normal "70" ping. Meanwhile, I'm using modem not WiFi. I'm aware of the fact that WiFi is bad for gaming, it lags out alot.. but I'm using modem, and I'm still lagging out. I turned off the Wireless from my Router Configuration & Settings. Did not work, any help?

That sometimes happens to me, as I am far away from the router, I disconnect from it every now and again and quickly reconnect so it looks like I am lagging. If you have a slow and lagging router as you said, that may be your problem right there. How old is your router and what type have you got?

TP-LINK TD-W8901G
54M Wireless ADSL2+ Modem Router.
For the further posts.. this router got unlimited speed, not limited.
Sorry I am not with this sort of stuff but I am sure someone can help you out with this.
