Need some tech help here
For some reason my computer doesn't work with the ethernet cord plugged in. I'll make this short
The problem started when my computer just suddenly went completely laggy. It's so bad that the cursor would delay by like five seconds and it would take me around five minutes to type a sentence. It's like everything runs in 1 or 2 fps.
In safe mode, it runs just fine.
In safe mode with networking, it has the same problem.
When I unplug the ethernet cord, everything runs just fine. No lag at all. When plugged back in, everything just lags and freezes up.
I run a shtty dell studio one. The hardware isn't exactly "upgradable". This isn't a massive issue considering I'll be getting a new computer in two weeks. Right now I'm running some subpar Acer that has similar specs, except it has terrible 1GB RAM.

Try:
Open Command prompt with Admin rights then type in
NetSH -ENTER-
Winsock -ENTER-
Reset -ENTER-
And you do the same here again:
NetSH -ENTER-
Firewall -ENTER-
Reset -ENTER-
*With "-ENTER-" I mean press enter as in execute the command
What this does is reset the TCP/IP and Firewalls settings. -

I've already tried this.
The Firewall part won't work because firewall isn't open.
Firewall won't open because it needs an update.
I can't update because I can't get on the internet. -

Just how much junk you have on that computer? Junk= Search bars, download mangers, malware, spyware, Virus. This sound like when your computer is trying to connect to the net. Every thing is fighting to see what gets there first.
Download these programs clean the system:
CCleaner = http://www.piriform.com/ccleaner
Malwarebytes = http://www.malwarebytes.org/
Run system Disk Cleaner, Run these programs, clean the computer out. Delete search bars, Run a Virus scanner. Good luck.
