Stop the downloads on surveys.
My friend wanted me to do a survey for him so he could gain some ZP, so i opened up Team View, after i started going to the survey selection there were atleast 30 surveys that used to credit, that never rewarded. So i was like, oh well might aswell download one program from this survey, funny enough it was only PDF reader so i thought, this should be safe and easy..!
Yeah..i could say that again, exactly 3 minutes after the survey was done i notice INTENSE system lag, suspcious directorys and my browser sending me spam pop ups. I was like, time to open up malwarebytes since i know theres going to be a some viruses on my system...

So again i had to clean my system of unwanted programs i DID NOT agree to download. Since these surveys are not checked please tell me whats stopping them from adding keyloggers and many other viruses to software that you can download from these offers?
Nothing i assume.
Bare in mind this was only 1 SURVEY DOWNLOAD - Imagine the people who keep installing these programs, how do you think things like this would impact on their PC? i already see people on the Technical support section having issues loading crossfire because of survey related program that are picked up.
This is not my first thread on this issue, stop the nonsense. Thank you.

Yeah thats rly crazy ... i never make them just one time like 15 downloads at a old laptop before i istall the new os. I got 0 ZPfrom 10-15 downloads
After i finish the downlaods the game crashed all the time .' wrote:SKoRM;3685469'] Warhawk has IE open, F11
Funny, the downloads only istall toolbars for IE but not for Firefox xD -
If you want credit you gotta take screenshots and send into support, but always scan after you download, cause it installs a bunch of adware crap
Believe it or not, but the Internet Explorer for Windows 8 is the fastest :d' wrote:SKoRM;3685469'] Warhawk has IE open, F11 -
Most likely it was just adware.
But still your own fault for actually downloading something from a survey xD
I think saidin or angel already said it's not there fault if any of the surveys infect your PC with virusses...ofc that is kind bs but in the end the will do nothing since you need to contact the survey company that host's the surveys. -

Thats why you use custom installation so you don't get the toolbars. -

Adware, nope.
This was just PUP which isn't that bad, only took my physical memory to 92 percent using 50 cpu power. One time a few months ago I downloaded loads of programs from surveys and I ended up getting some group policy settings changed. (Task manager disabled.)
Go ahed and try do them downloads on an old laptop or pc. Wait till you get that browser hi-jacker installed. (Delta websearch) use your laptop to do more and more surveys downloads and browse on it a lot. See how long it takes before it runs a drive by exploit and enjoy the outcome.Thats why you use custom installation so you don't get the toolbars.
Lol are you _______ kidding me?
I never select any othetr programs/toolbars other than the orignal thing, you think rhat stops them from installing 20 programs you've never heard of? -
I wonder if with enough malicious downloads on the old laptop example... it could hijack a wireless network and possibly infect any other computers connected to that network.
O.o
I don't think so, stuff like that is really protected unless however you are on an unsecure network. - not saying it couldn't, just unlikley.
Here's a common thing that auto downloads onto your pc via surveys, DnsBasic have a good read. Try see if you can find any results on the fourms about that file/program (search random things and not just the name itself since its short). -
Actually whilst you can report these downloads to the survey company, maybe the survey companies should be reported to Z8 and be replaced with responsible ones that is what a real company would do.
And there is a real danger to CF accounts from surveys, suppose someone advertised a software with a keylogger designed with the intent to steal CF accounts.
Also installing these things on an old PC makes sense to people in the know however many kids that play CF won't know that.
