add the CrossFire folder to your antivirus's exception list, and if you have a custom firewall software, temporarily disable it and attempt to launch CrossFire again.
deleting the X-Trap folder located in the CrossFire installation folder has shown to work for a few people, as it updates itself again and may fix problems.
if that doesn't work, try a clean reinstallation of CrossFire.
uninstall CrossFire completely, and then attempt to install CrossFire again. a redownload of the client is a safe way to go, but not completely necessary.

it seems there's a problem with the X-Trap servers. I'll leave the solutions up for future searches and so on, but please wait patiently!

What version of X-Trap are you running? Eaither this is a screenshot from 2010 or your whole x-trap folder needs updating.
As for this error do you have any programs like (netintelligence?) that can stop you connecting to websites if the .exe is terminated via taskmanager?
