well, having "goals" to achieve is a nice thing, but still, catering to the people who spend more seems to be a smart move.
A gun that costs 50k to 100k BP. not that much work and would keep people spending.

Wouldn´t even have to be an overpowered shark laser gun, a nice looking collectible would do the job... but hey, what do I know...:D
