Um, step-by-step instructions? I got up to the Advanced settings part but can't find the DEP...help? -

Um, it didn't work. I got stuck on step 3 - can't find the User Control Query thingie. Well, I'm reinstalling...hope it works. Otherwise...well, I don't know.

...ok - sorry man - looks that you use win XP...and the instructions are for win7...
Can´t say if it work in XP too... anyway if you wanna try:
-The Query thing you can ignore for now - if you logged in as administrator
>>> go to Advanced
- Click the button “Settings” in the Performance section.
- Click the tab “Data Execution Prevention”
- choose “Turn on DEP for all programs and services except those I select:”
- click Add to add the crossfire.exe (browse to the game directory and choose the .exe)
- Click OK twice
- Restart the computer for the changes to take effect -

if you press the Advanced tab - shown in your picture you posted - the next System Properties window show you "Performance" section and there is the buttom "Settings"... -

I really need help - I assume maintenance is over and I checked mmostatus. Whenever I try to play it says "Failed to Execute HGWC" Whaat! I checked - my folders - it's all in there. Just in case, I reinstalled 4 times (-_-) and, surprise, it didn't work. I'm really confused right now - will I never be able to play CF again..? -

The note appears when it shows it loading...about to finish and commence to login. -
OK...so my advice is probably a solution for you...
i added some text...read and follow if you like...(adding HGWC too)..
What do you mean..? "adding HGWC too" I put in crossfire.exe and now reinstalling it. It is loading, the patcher. I hope it works. I only "disabled dep for crossfire" Is that right? o-(O
