Very funny to read "professional" tips about video montages. Coz all of that videos - montages and not editing, because editing - is composing, and Sony Vegas - the program only for montage - nothing more. And when I hear that someone calling color correction and blur - EFFECTS - its somehow funny.
Also amazing when theme author "modestly" calls his sleepy videos (that have 200-500 views at YT) - exemplary and worship, and montages of a man whose every video is gaining more than 10,000 - ****. Also "modestly" when the "top 5" in his opinion videos - 3 of its own production.
Dear author - go down from heaven and make something normal before teach someone. Thx. -

Sorry for not responding sooner.
"effects 3rd person singular present, plural of ef·fect
Noun
A change that is a result or consequence of an action or other cause"
com·pose (km-pz)
v. com·posed, com·pos·ing, com·pos·es
v.tr.
2. To make or create by putting together parts or elements.
3. To create or produce (a literary or musical piece).
Colours and blur are, by definition "effects," just as creation of a video using SV is, by definition "composing."
I don't claim to be giving "professional" tips. I'm not a professional by definition, and neither are my technical skills with SV very good. I will say that my theory in regards to movie-making is above average however, and that's where this is coming from.
I don't "modestly" call my videos anything. I did as best an analysis as I could, using logic to back up the things that I could. If you disagree, and have a valid reason to do so, then I encourage you to post! Just know that calling a video "sleepy" is not a valid criticism without some elaboration =\
Although they don't have 200-500 views, as I'm typing this they sit at 20K views (clementine - orangecoremedia channel), 29K views (clementine 2 - orangecoremedia channel), and 15K views (No Limits - thenexhe channel). Regardless, the views of a video don't matter. A video can have 5 million views and still be terrible, just as a video could have 5 views and be amazing. Unfortunately, view count is not an accurate representation of quality
No where in my list is there a "Top 5." There are 10 videos total, and as I said in my post, they are in no particular order. -
I, as an editor and author of some movies, I agree with Danхi about his tips and analysis , but for the software - absolutely not. SV - software for video montage (that is to glue pieces of video). And the effects, transitions, titles opportunities to work with - very low in order to name a video made by ONLY SV - "editions/compositions". They are made to give the glued pieces of smooth and watchable form.
If we are talking about the real effects, we are talking about After Effect. And after editing (creating compositions) - assemble in the SV.
Thus, the complete process of editing and creating decent and high-quality video can not only using a simple montage program and at the same time makes it easier to mount after postprocessing. -

I never said After Effects SHOULDN'T be used. If anyone is comfortable with the program and can use it to improve their video, they SHOULD use it, just as they should use any other program that could enhance their video.
However, that doesn't mean it is always necessary. Yes, After Effects makes complicated effects easier to do, and has an easier time developing a good outcome from said effects (or at least it seems to). But that doesn't mean that you need to use After Effects on your video. If you can accomplish what you set out to do, and you can do it only using SV, then it's perfectly fine to do so. -

If blur and pan/crop enough for your montage than yes - you right - sv will be enough but you wont make ever even 10% of effects what u can do with AE (to call your movie "edit" after that)... -

An attitude rife with elitism like that will only hinder your improvement. More effects will not always = better outcome, just as more programs will not. The only thing that matters is the final product, judging people on how they got there is ridiculous and counter-productive
