Key Unbinds every time I change server

Simply put, whenever I open CF or change servers, the key that I use to walk is the '\' key (next to the shift key on my keyboard) unbinds and I have to go into settings and rebind this key to walk. This is every time I've just logged in, or changed servers.

Is this something I can fix myself, or do I have to wait for the quite frankly lazy developers to fix the game?
