Mouse freezing

Does this only occur when you play Crossfire?

Do you mean mouse stops responding?
If so i get that and keyboard unresponsive issues sometimes too.
Oldest fix is to task manager when you execute crossfire. Right click the crossfire.exe and a) set affinity to have only,a check in cpu 0. Then right click the crossfire.exe and set priority to low. You might need,to login first and minimize window to do this if your not quick enough on the load.
This solved my issues,with my mouse and keyboard sporadically going unresponsive in mid game for up to 20 seconds it would last.

If you mean you hear the windows chime when a usb device unplugs or plugs in, or if its lights turn off on the mouse, then i would be suspecting your usb ports.
