Computer FPS problems

So here is the issue... Check that great fps out. 7.6 frames... I have been having this problem recently, every minute or so my computer dives from 50-60 frames a second to this. It lasts around 20 seconds, and raises back to the original.. I am sick and tired of dying and losing due to this great amount of fps drop, and im not sure on what to do. I have updated all my drivers, i cleaned my computer from useless programs, ive run scans etc... Friends pointed me to an overheat of the computer, i was wondering what your perspective on this is. I will clean my computer out tomorrow*** Any help thats not "have you tried turning it off and on again" is appreciated

Could possibly be overheating. Have you given Crossfire.exe full priority yet?
An option to increase FPS is to do the following:This is also easily reversible. It just turns off unneccesary UI's.Click the Start button
, and then click Control Panel. Go to System and Security, then System. On the left sidebar, click Advanced system settings. A window will appear, under the Advanced tab, in the Performance box, click Settings. Click adjust for best performance, then Apply.
