Might be a glitch - remove your friend again, then try restarting the game.

Contact the support team through the support ticket. They'll delete your friend for you.

This happened to me last month. I had like 15 friends that I couldn't delete so I contacted the support team and they deleted them for me. Just include their ingame name and they'll remove your friend. It's a minor bug in the game.
