Lost character

Hi, I started playing this game all the way back in 2009, then midway i stop playing and focus on my studies. Now that i have more free time Iam back to this game. But when i log on, i found out my character is gone. Is there some major patch or is this a bug? Or is it deleted due to long periods of vacancy?
