game won't even start

I have tried to play several times... even uninstalled and redownloaded the game... everything runs fine till the game is supposed to start... then I get a quick screen blink and the color scheme changes then another blink and nothing happens... I've put it together that the second blink is when the game is supposed to pop up but it's almost as if it closes itself right away
