Patcher disappears when i run crossfire

I recently took a 1 year break from crossfire, today i decided to come and have a blast, so i downloaded crossfire (took about a hour,) ran the exe, click on start, it all loaded up fine, started downloading, about halfway into the patching process i get a error about it not being able to download, i remembered that last time i got that error a restart of my pc fixed it, so i restarted my pc, loaded up crossfire, the patcher popped up for about a second and disappears without doing anything ( not adding any processes or applications in the task manager ) So i decided to uninstall and redownload, and its still doing the same thing, pls help :) btw am on windows xp, single core processor (3.4ghz), 4gb ram and have a Nvidia Geforce 7300 GT incase specs have anything to do with this problem.

  • Outdated CF... Must download new setup. Make sure to uninstall. Is the patcher running in the task manager? If so try closing it and running it, or run as admin.

    Hello wo]LF,

First of all thank you for choosing Cross Fire again!

Did you uninstall Cross Fire 100%? It happened to me before. I had 3 hard drives(With copies of the game in all of the hard drives.) Make sure you erase all copies of Cross Fire from all hard drives. The game driver is damaged.

  • the crossfire i downloaded was the one from http://crossfire.z8games.com/downloadS2.aspx which is the official download place, which should be kept to date...anyway i uninstalled and redownloading now
#Edit also went through all places where game data is allowed to be stored in the C:// driver ( only hard drive i have ) and deleted everything crossfire related, redownloading now, i'll let you know if it works or not
