by the replay is very easy to notice when someone is wallhacking
if he looks at the wall a lot, he wallhacks and he gets banned xD -

makes sense
but i think some of them specialize in other areas like tech support.. -
the problem however is: you need a lot of time, do not underestimate it!
also: it's hard to trust someone you don't know, so how do the current gm's know you will not ban fair players? I think that's why they only use 1 GM right now. he knows what he bans, and what he doesn't ban.
a lot of people will probably say "I want to do it, no problem", but why do they want to do it?
usually it is because:
1) they think they look cool cause they are a GM
2) they can do whatever they want, they hate someone? they ban him. (well ofcourse, eventually this will get known, and the guy will get kicked from GM team, but trust me, a lot of people will want to be GM just because of this! not thinking about the results afterwards!)
but, what do they really want in a GM?
1) someone who wants the community to become better, without getting any profit about it himself!
2) someone who is willing to spend his free time on this, without whining and without trying to get himself more popular or whatever
3) someone who is really trustable
remember that a GM is an example for all players, and it uses way more time than you would expect, if 1000 people would sign up to be GM, trust me, 999 will not be good enough for the job!
I'm part of an anti-cheat team myself (actually multiple anti cheat teams, I'm in ACA (Anti Cheat Alliance, which is the team that bans hackers in Tactical Ops, which is a counterstrike mod for unreal tournament. I'm also in ClanBase AntiCheat team, and I'm working in an anticheat project for a "game" called DotA (a map in Warcraft3)), so I have a lot of experience, and I can assure you that most people trying to sign up for those teams have wrong intensions.
they usually do it to abuse their powers, or even to cheat themselves, cause think about it: if you are the one banning hackers, but you hack yourself, who will ban you? you won't ban yourself ofcourse! allthough most people forget that there usually is a whole team for banning cheaters, so also other people from the team can ban you, and even if you'd be GM and able to ban cheaters in here, saidin will still check replays of you. but whatever, I still made my point clear that most people just try to sign up as GM to abuse their powers, or to look cool into the eyes of other people.
but guess what: in CF, the GM's and MOD's do not tell their names in public, and very probably there is a rule about this that they are not allowed to, so: people won't find you cool cause they wouldn't know it's you who is GM.
also: as a GM, you need to speak decent english, people have to understand what you're talking about. ofcourse, if you're not english/american/whateverish (:P) they can't expect you to speak perfect english, but you have to be understandable at least, lets say you have to be able to speak 99% fluent english!
so: english speaking, trustable, with good intentions, with enough time to do the job... trust me, it's hard to find!
finding a new GM will be very hard, and I suppose that if there would be a new GM anytime soon, it will very probably be a mod that becomes a GM, cause at least they trust those people, since they already know them.
so picking someone up from the forums is a very very bad idea! -

Everybody knows who the Mods, and the visible GMs are. In-game, the GMs and Mods have namecards saying so, so everybody knows. It's not a secret.
Moderator status is not asked for, but given. If you work hard on the forums and apply when the applications are open again, I'm sure you'll be considered. Good luck

chaos, I know that their GM names are known, but the GM's and Mod's also have alternative accounts they play on, and those are not known

I know that, I just said that in another topic as well to someone, and I don't have any intentions to apply as a GM/Mod first of all: the GM's & mods don't know me as far as I know, so they won't trust me either, so I don't think they would even consider making me a GM or Mod. Secondly, I don't know if I would have enough time for it at this moment
so I will not apply when there are applications open. only time will tell if I ever join the team, but I'm not yet thinking about that, ofcourse I want to help the community, but there are a lot of more ways to help the community and face it: how big is the chance that somebody would ever become a mod/gm? I'm a realist, and I know the chances are 0.001% to ever become a GM in CF. so don't plan on becoming a GM, if the chance comes, it comes, if it doesn't, it doesn't. think about it this way: whatever happens in life, it's all a win, you started with nothing, all you can get is profit, if there is a chance and you fail on the chance, you're still on the same place as you were before, so you didn't lose anything -
i forgot to save the replay cuz i was argueing with my gfIm surprised you didn't add me to your list, since you kept spamming that i was a hacker during our Snipers Only S&D on DesertStorm.Saidin is not the only mod, and I'm pretty sure he isn't the only one who looks at replays.
Anyway, the reason his inbox is full is because he does not work on weekends!
yeah i know he's not the only 1 who checks the replay, but he's the only1 who gets the replays -

Is it not here that we must submit our hack reportis it possible to have 2 GMS in charge to ban hackers/glitchers?
because... i think Saidin has too much work, he has too many posts that he cant' accept more
