D.X.Tory unable to record
Since Z8's Support advised me to create a thread, since I couldn't find one made already, I decided to create this.
So apparently, D.X.Tory is a game recorder. Able to record various games if the DirectX level for the game is compatible. You'll know it works if you have an overlay, which is a thin line bordering the game along with a number in a corner or the side of your screen showing how much FPS(Frames Per Second) is being produced.
Well, here's my problem. The overlay is present, so I know that D.X.Tory picks up Cross Fire's process. The problem is, no hotkey(s) issued on the program allows the program to start recording. Now, before you jump to conclusions of the prefix "D.X.T.", no it is not a hack related program. It's been out for months to years and X-Trap doesn't pick it up, nor does any Anti-Virus that I have used. I will include a picture of what it actually looks like at the end of this thread. I have tried uninstalling and re-installing Cross Fire multiple times on different computers. All drivers are up to date. Don't tell me to use different recorders please because I have tried them all. X-Fire was recently fixed, but quality is not good. Fraps is "okay", but splits up the video approx. every 4.0 GBs of memory. PlayClaw gets caught from X-Trap, along with multiple others that have failed to work. Reason why I'm posting here and not on the D.X.Tory forum is because someone already posted a thread and the moderators have no addressed to issue nor fix it. Google fails to help since it gets mixed up with Cross Fire with AMD Crossfire. So, I'm addressing this issue for you guys, the MODs, anyone who is more vast in computer technology than I am to help me and others who want to use D.X.Tory to make gameplay for a Frag Movie, if you know what that means.

Try sending a support ticket just to inform them of the issue, and maybe they can correct it.
In the mean time, try bandicam. It way less space, doesn't lag too much, and has pretty good quality. -
Sent a support ticket. They advised me to make a thread. They always say that when they don't have an answer. Stated this in the first paragraph. I don't really like Bandicam. All recorders record in AVI, so the space is still the same. Quality is decent. I don't like the advertisement. Don't feel like buying another recorder just for one game. I like D.X.Tory because it's all around HQ, more flexible settings and works universal on all games. This is the only game I have a problem with.

From the video I watched, it said d.x.tory takes more space than fraps. Bandicam makes an incredibly smaller file than fraps.

Both 30 second clips, 1 from bandicam with 66 mb, and 1 with fraps with 491 mb. -
You have to consider the sound, and frames. Only reason Bandicam's files are smaller is because it compresses the file. Fraps doesn't compress it's files. Also have to determine the graphics. The resolution you record in. D.X.Tory records in big files, yes. It's because it records constantly. I was able to record 2hours worth of gameplay only fitting less than 50 GBs. I have nothing against Bandicam, I just don't personally like it.

The scaling is what it records in. If I record in 800x600, it's not in HD. And it'll all my compacted smaller making the recording terrible. Most overlays are blocked yes, but recording overlays aren't. Fraps' overlay is allowed. So is X-Fire and others. Even D.X.Tory, it's just the recording won't start. I got it to start before. You had to force the record in lobby, and you couldn't stop recording until you closed CF or closed the recorder. Which is pretty bad.
